Because to identify with the body, with the mind, requires the past, requires time. Because in presence, there is no gender, there is no time. There’s no age. This is the heart of things, the core matter.
But when you get a peek into the causeless joy, the causeless peace and freedom, it’s a precious gift. A direct message from God, (speaking in religious terms).
There is a belief that there is somebody who needs to do something, to accomplish something, to attain something. This belief appears to you, and sometimes it hooks you. Meaning, sometimes consciousness goes along with its own play, because it is the only reality.
So we become more and more childlike, more and more innocent, spontaneous, not-knowing. There’s a beautiful harmony to that. It is a return to the source, which is what we are. It is a journey without taking any step.
